Growing up with an extremely inventive and talented father, I felt the need to soak up as much as I could from his ingenuity. I was blessed to grow up witnessing the ins and outs of our family business and immersed myself in all aspects of the furniture design and manufacturing industry. As an Architect I enjoyed learning various techniques and practices from all trades involved in the construction industry. This knowledge opened my eyes to the interdisciplinary synergy, crucial for great design. As I was introduced to Lighting, I was fascinated by this practice that combined complex physics, anatomy, art, and the intrigue of an intangible element. Lighting was the perfect field for me to get lost in. As a result, lighting became my passion and the stage on which I choose to dedicate my talents. During the most formative and influential years of my career, I honed my lighting skills by working in various sectors of the industry. I have practiced lighting design, managed international lighting distribution, consulted with brands and designers on international specifications and market strategy, and have been the Director of R&D for an international lighting manufacturer. This last assignment was a very gratifying experience, where I saw my efforts rewarded with 3 international design awards. This success became my catalyst for creating Bold Lighting. Achieving excellence in design is my ultimate career goal. Whether designing furniture, working on an architectural design, or creating a high-performance lighting brand, I relentlessly seek to push design limits ahead of the market. By using the latest technologies, and sticking to simple concepts and common sense, I am able to focus on excellence in product design. My career has been both challenging and rewarding. Lighting has brought me many accolades, including my wife (who is a Lighting Designer), and in turn, our 2 little girls. I am thoroughly enjoying this new adventure, and am excited to continue showcasing my talent, expanding my knowledge, and sharing my innovations with our multidisciplinary environment. Bold Lighting’s design approach is a direct reflection of our team’s diverse backgrounds. Every day, our team members dive deep into their professional arsenals and use past experiences, combined with their precise/meticulous/unequivocal knowledge, to offer the most genuine ideas and innovative products.
