The HP1 Wallwasher is a versatile, high-performance luminaire designed to illuminate architectural surfaces and large art pieces with controlled precision. Originally developed for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), HP1 brings together Peter Zumthor's architectural discipline and Bold Lighting's technical expertise.
Designed by Peter Zumthor, the fixture is defined by its distinctive wedge-shaped form and quiet presence within the architectural space. Bold Lighting led the engineering and manufacturing, translating Zumthor's design into a production-ready luminaire and developing the adjustable linear optical system, stem-mount construction, and range of finishes and mounting configurations.
Engineered with advanced optical technology, HP1 Wallwasher delivers clean, homogeneous light distribution with excellent uniformity and minimal spill, making it ideal for highlighting walls, vertical surfaces, and large-scale artworks. The optical unit is adjustable in tilt from 0° aiming straight down to 50° from the horizontal, providing a high degree of aiming flexibility for precise light placement.
